The Spain Park Jaguars Youth Football program fields teams from First through Sixth grade (ages 6 – 12). Organized under the Hoover Athletic Association, the young JAGS are closely affiliated with the athletic department of the Spain Park High School Jaguars. The young JAGS practice at the Spain Park High school athletic facilities and play their home games under the lights on the turf at Jaguar Stadium! Participating within the JSYFL, the JAGS play teams from the greater Birmingham area, including teams from Oak Mountain, Chelsea, Pelham, Vestavia, Hoover, Helena, Briarwood, Trussville, and Homewood.

The Jefferson-Shelby Youth Football League (JSYFL) is offered to players in 1st-6th grade. We divide the teams by where each player will attend high school, Spain Park or Hoover. In most cases there is one team per grade with the exception of the 1st/2nd grade team. This team combines both grades. Each team could have up to 49 players per team and usually average about 32 players per team. The guaranteed playing time for each player is 4 plays per game. The JSYFL also offers unrestricted weight for offensive and defensive line players with restricted weights for other positions.

All persons interested in coaching within the SPYFB league are required to complete a background check at least once per year.
