HAA Policies


Hoover East Park Rules

  • Field use is by permission only.

  • Smoking is not allowed anywhere at the park except the parking lot.

  • Pets are not allowed at the park. This includes animals of all sizes, breeds and temperaments. Helper animals, such as seeing-eye dogs, are the only exceptions to this rule.

  • Firearms and alcohol are not allowed at the park.

  • Bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, skateboards and skates are not allowed at the park.

  • No standing or sitting on dugouts.

  • Warm-up in designated areas.

HITTING FACILITY RULES

  • HITTING FACILITY USE IS BY PERMISSION ONLY.

  • ONLY PLAYERS AND COACHES ALLOWED IN FACILITY.  PARENTS AND SIBLINGS MUST WAIT OUTSIDE.

  • NO FOOD ALLOWED.  ABSOLUTELY NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS.

  • NO CLEATS ALLOWED.  TENNIS SHOES ONLY.

  • NO SWINGING BATS OUTSIDE OF A DESIGNATED CAGE.

  • CLEAN UP ALL TRASH WHEN YOU LEAVE. 


HAA CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. This Code of Conduct applies to players, coaches, parents, and spectators participating in or attending athletic events sponsored by HAA (“Patrons”). Additional rules may apply for specific sports or activities.
  2. Patrons must act in a sportsmanlike manner at all times.
  3. Profanity, hostile or abusive language, and threats of any kind directed to Patrons or game officials are prohibited. Any Patron acting in such a manner is subject to immediate expulsion by the game officials and/or the league commissioner. Expulsions or prohibited behavior may be reported to appropriate authorities at the discretion of any HAA officer. Multiple or extreme violations of this rule may result in the imposition of additional sanctions by the Board, up to and including banning an individual from participating in or attending any future HAA sponsored event.
  4. Any Patron engaging in any act of violence, physical abuse or taunting against another Patron or game official will be immediately ejected from the premises and may be reported to the proper authorities. Any use of violence will be reviewed by the board of HAA, and the board may in its discretion impose additional sanctions up to and including banning an individual from participating in or attending any future HAA sponsored event.
  5. No alcoholic beverages are allowed at any HAA sponsored event. Any person appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substances will be asked to leave the premises immediately.
  6. Patrons should not criticize game officials. Coaches are responsible for communicating and enforcing this rule with respect to his/her players, parents, and spectators.
  7. Coaches may communicate with game officials to clarify calls and rules and address issues that arise during games. All communication should be relayed in a professional and courteous manner. Coaches should refrain from arguing with, yelling at, or otherwise criticizing game officials. Any complaints should be directed to the league commissioner at the conclusion of the game.
  8. Parents and spectators may not enter the field of play to argue with or criticize any player, coach, or game official. Parents may access the field once play has stopped to attend an injured player. A violation of this rule will result in immediate expulsion from the premises.
  9. Coaches must strictly adhere to all HAA rules, policies, and regulations regarding player participation. Coaches found to have intentionally violated such rules, policies, or regulations are subject to a one game suspension at the discretion of the league commissioner. Subsequent intentional violations of such rules, policies, or regulations will be grounds for the board of HAA at its discretion to impose additional sanctions up to and including prohibiting further participation in HAA by the individual as a head coach or assistant coach. It is the head coach's responsibility to know and understand the rules applicable to player participation for the sport they are coaching.
  10. Coaches must strictly adhere to all HAA rules, policies, and regulations regarding the number and length of practices. Coaches found to have violated such rules, policies, or regulations shall have their team's next game forfeited.
  11. Coaches should instruct players to play within the written rules of the game and within the spirit of the game at all times. Coaches should not seek unfair advantage by teaching deliberate unsportsmanlike behavior to players.
  12. Any player or coach ejected from a game for any reason will automatically be suspended from his/her team's next game. In the event the ejection occurs during the final game played by his/her team in a particular season, the suspension will carry over to the next game in any HAA sport in which the player or coach is involved.
  13. HAA reserves the absolute right to deny participation in its sponsored programs to any individual found to be in violation of any of the provisions of this Code of Conduct, or to impose such lesser penalties as it may determine in its sole discretion are warranted.
  14. Only authorized personnel are allowed on any field utilized by HAA.  Fields include, but are not limited to, fields in the City of Hoover as well as any field outside the City of Hoover that any HAA team is utilizing.  Authorized personnel include only those persons that have completed the NCSS PREPARE course, the CDC concussion course, and the required background check and any other mandatory training required by HAA.  This training may change from year to year.  This rule is in effect during practices and games.  Exception to this rule includes anyone that is considered part of the game, this would include chain gang.  Children under the age of 16 are exempt from this rule. 
    1. 1st offense the non-authorized person will be asked to leave the field
    2. 2nd offense the non-authorized person will be asked to leave the field and his or her player will not be allowed to play during that game
    3. 3rd offense his or her player will not be allowed to play the remainder of the year
